Dylan has been nominated for forty-six awards - including Grammy's, Academy Awards, Golden Globe. Has been inducted into three hall of fames, is a Recipient of now four awards, is an Honorary Doctor of Music from two schools, and has five songs inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
It was reported that Dylan had a 16/1 chance of being chosen for this award, with the debate of whether or not a musician's writing, lyrics, has the same artistic value as other who have achieved the award before him. Many were thrilled by the lyricist/poet's achievement, as seen throughout social media. Friends such as Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Roseanne Cash, including other writers, like Stephen King, commented and posted their congratulations towards the writer.
