18 Days of McCartney Day 10- Nancy Shevell

It was on what would of been John Lennon's 71st birthday that Sir Paul McCartney married his third wife, Nancy Shevell.

1977;  From BeatleMagazine
Nancy was born on 20 November, 1959 to Myron (Mike) and Arlene Shevell in Edison, New Jersey. Her father was founder and owner of  one of the largest truckload carries on the Northeast Coast (US), New England Motor Freight Inc. She was one of three children, having her brother John and sister Susan. She would then go on to study at Arizona State University (like Linda McCartney), where she majored in Transportation. She later went on to receive the Fred Harley Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in Transportation

In 1984 Nancy had married lawyer Bruce Blakeman, the couple would give birth to their son Arlen Walters in 1992. Bruce had actually knew Paul and his first wife, Linda, during their vacations in the Hampton while visiting Linda's family.  It was in 2007 that Nancy and Bruce had broken off their twenty-three year relationship on good terms. During her relationship with Bruce, Nancy was battling cancer but fortunately has been cancer free since.

In 2007, while pending his divorce with second wife, Heather Mills, Paul began seeing Nancy Shevell, her second cousin, Barbara Walters, would state on her show The View the following;
"I love her very much. She's my second cousin. Her mother, who died, was my first cousin. And I have been very close to this young woman."

Prior to their marriage, the two attended Yom Kippur synagogue services in respect to Nancy, Jewish descent, and her family. She wore a dress designed by her now step-daughter, Stella McCartney.

Nancy is now Vice President of her father Motor Freight company where she is responsible for accounts, corporate communicatison, benefits administration, office management, and purchasing the specific supplies and equipment needed for the company. Nancy has become part of Paul's writing, inspiring "My Valentine" from his album Kisses on the Bottom. In the early days Paul recalls calling Nancy up on the phone while she was in the United States and asking her to listen to a song he had been working on; she'd jokingly hang up on him. This October will be the couples three-year wedding anniversary. The Following video is "My Valentine";
