Flowers In The Dirt

Winter for some is seen as such a miserable, dreary, time of year. It's the time of year that animals hibernate, birds fly south, freezing balls of rain mound in some of our yards, and when plants usually die. Spring however may come a little bit early this time around.

This week Paul McCartney and his great team announced that the Grammy-Award  and BRIT nominated album, Flowers In The Dirt, will be reissued this coming March. The album was McCartney's eighth solo album released on 5 June by Parlophone. Reaching number on in both United Kingdom and Norway. During this time McCartney released "My Brave Face" which was a natural hit in the United States. All things were falling into place, leading McCartney to embark on one of his biggest tours of his career, The Paul McCartney World Tour, which started hitting North America, Europe, Japan and Brazil from September 1989- July 1990.

The album features the talents of several producers, Elvis Costello, David Foster, Mitchell Froom, Trevor Horn, Steve Lipson, and McCartney himself. Also, EMI producer, Beatles producer, and friend, George Martin had work on "Put It There", as well as Pink Floyd guitarist, David Gilmour lending his skills on "We Got Married". A thirteen tracked album with artwork was photographed by, who else but Paul's then wife, Linda (Eastman); the canvas was painted by the World Tour backdrop artist, Brian Clarke.

In the Reissued, Deluxe Edition one can find all new configurations at Abbey Road Studios, digital downloads, three unheard cassette demos,  remixes, single edits, and original B-sides, eighteen bonus audio tracks, featuring unreleased demos from McCartney's co-writing with Elvis Costello;
"The demos are red hot off the skillet and that’s why we wanted to include them on this boxed set. What’s great about these songs is that they’ve just been written. So there’s nothing more hot off the skillet as I say. So that was the kind of great instant thing about them. I hadn’t listened to them in ages but when I did I knew we had to put them out. We made a little tape of them and sent them to Elvis, who loved them too. We said we should put out an EP or something and now the moment’s finally arrived.” -McCartney.  PaulMcCartney.com Paul Announces Reissue of 'Flowers In The Dirt'

 Paul McCartney's website also includes;

"The DVD that comes with the Deluxe Edition includes all the music videos from the album, three new short films with unseen archive material that show some of the creation process of the album and the documentary 'Put It There' originally released on VHS in 1989 – a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Flowers In The Dirt as well as featuring live performances from his 1989 World Tour."

Personal;

Personally, I believe this album defines how determined McCartney is to keep his legend alive. After Wings had split and McCartney had released a few albums without a great sensation, Flowers In The Dirt reclaimed that spark and wonder that we all have, making us ask the inevitable question, "How does he do it?". Also, in the psychedelic and creative film making of one of the favored tracks, "This One", had taught me hand motions and 'sign language', so yes, Macca once again, A+ for not only music education, but language.

1, One More Time

"'The Beatles, their music, their work and their images is as strong as (it's) ever been,' Lindsey-Hogg said. 'You can't beat them. You can't beat the Beatles.'" -From interview with Jacque Wilson Smith, CNN http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/20/entertainment/beatles-restored-music-videos/

It was 1957 when John Lennon and Paul McCartney started playing together, it was 1958 that George Harrison was added to the group, and four years later, Richard Starkey fell into place behind drums to form The Beatles. A little Liverpool group that made it to number one and has held that spot, at least in my opinion, as the number one band of all time, with twelve studio released albums {search and read about each album here}, Four films, Eight time Grammy winners, honored as Members of The British Empire, and much more, including Twenty Seven number one Singles.  It was only appropriate that this number one band with a near three dozen number one singles have their own number one album; Beatles 1.

Beatles 1 was originally released on 13 November, 2000 featuring every number one single released by these Liverpool Lords in the United Kingdom and United States from 1962- 1970. It was no surprised that within hours of being released this number one album shot to number one on charts across the world. This album not only topped charts across the globe, but became the fourth best-selling album in the United States - best-selling album in the US of the decade {2000-2009}, and making it the number one selling album of the decade worldwide!

The album includes the following tracks;
  1. Love Me Do
  2. From Me To You
  3. She Loves You
  4. I Want To Hold Your Hand
  5. Can't Buy Me Love
  6. A Hard Days Night
  7. I Feel Fine
  8. Eight Days A Week
  9. Ticket To Ride
  10. Help!
  11. Yesterday
  12. Day Tripper
  13. We Can Work It Out
  14. Paperback Writer
  15. Yellow Submarine
  16. Eleanor Rigby
  17. Penny Lane
  18. All You Need Is Love
  19. Hello,Goodbye
  20. Lady Madonna
  21. Hey Jude
  22. Get Back
  23. The Ballad of John and Yoko
  24. Something
  25. Come Together
  26. Let It Be
  27. The Long and Winding Road
The album was remastered and released, with once again an over whelming success, in September 2011. However, it may be Forty-Five years since The Beatles broke up {10 April, 1970} their music is still thriving. With that being said, look out world because on 6 November, 2015 The Beatles 1 is being re-released with twenty-seven digitally enhanced promotional videos for each number one hit! On top of that it will include twenty-three additional videos of the bands television appearances and rare footage.

Dennis Michael, a longtime Beatlemaniac told CNN News the following;
"Grainy, bad-sounding versions of The Beatles' early music clips have been bouncing around YouTube for years, but now they're back in their vivid glory."
Michael couldn't be anymore on point. Along with Dennis Micheal, many other fans eaglerily wait for the release of this brillant restored album featuring;
